Today's world of North and South jointly needs to combat against the expanding challenge of global warming. The Role played by the UN's ICCP(International Climate Change Panel) has been very much productive since its recommendations/ suggestions regarding the climate change seem to have produced an instrumental transnational response to this gigantic challenge the presentt world community has been facing with.As for Europe, the role being played by the EEA is also of very prompting nature. The European environmentalists have shown grave concern about this menace of global warming. A need of comprehensive proactive strategy accompanied by an agreed energy policy by the EU's goverments is the crying need of the time. The group of G8- a club of moslty developed industrialized nations_ has to play profound means of intervention and cooperation with the understanding of the developing nations to counterpoise this emerging challenge. Mr Algore's work in this behalf, is of course, of significant contribution, other world leaders should follow his aplomb and prudence.

SALMAN'S RUSHDIE'S KNIGHTHOOD
@ 2007-06-29 – 14:57:49
Much is being whispered/ debated or said in the Muslim world regarding Salman's knighthood. And of course, much is being criticised in the Muslim media about British Government indecent move.To many fair, liberal and neutral mindid muslims, the question about the justification of this title given to Rushidie whose malice about Islam need no introduction, seems to be a matter of pivotal concern because after this tribute to Rushdie, many muslims are bound to think that this award is perhaps rewarded to Rushdie against his prejudicail thinking of Islam that has a recipe for Islamophbia in the west. Muslim thinkers are expediently bound to think that this move of the United Kingdom has multiple political implications results of which may not be fruitful so far as the question of interfaith dailogue is concerned. Therefore, there seems to be an exigency that the British government ought to review about this decision of awarding Mr Rushdie the title of knighthood.
